Many conservative and libertarian radio show hosts are known to support the ownership of firearms in the United States. The owning of firearms in the United States has become a hot button issue in recent years because of how many gun-related issues frequently show up in the news. A few radio show hosts that support the ownership of firearms have tried to disseminate the difference between gun ownership and issues of violence in America. The famous magician and illusionist Penn Jillette (see video below) has become very outspoken on the subject of gun rights in recent years. He has argued on his own radio show for years that gang violence, active shooting and the right to bear arms are all separate issues that shouldn’t be grouped together.
Conspiracy theorist and radio host Alex Jones has also been very outspoken on the subject of gun ownership in America. He and many others argue that firearm restrictions on citizens leads to increased police power and government control. A widely viewed debate between Alex Jones and CNN news broadcaster Piers Morgan brought the issue to a head in January of last year. Jones felt that the issue was more about politics than the actual restriction of firearms.
Not all supporters of the right to bear arms are strictly right wing or libertarian. Bill Maher is an openly liberal radio show host. He has stated on his show that he owns a gun because it gives him a sense of safety within his home. Although there are many different viewpoints on firearms in the United States, almost everyone unanimously agrees that guns should be handled safely and responsibly. One way to ensure that a gun is stored securely is by purchasing a Gun Safe like the ones featured in the reviews @ gunsafecritic.com. A gun safe is an affordable way to ensure that a weapon is stored safely and securely away from guests and family members within a home.
Gun safes have come a long way in recent years. There are now a large number of gun safes that employ the use of digital fingerprint reading tools. These safes work great because a gun can be accessed at a moment’s notice if there is an intruder within the home. Many people experience panic during emergencies. A break-in is no exception. It’s best to think carefully about the kind of gun safe that suits your particular needs. There are a huge number of gun safes on the market. It can be difficult to select one over another. Those looking for a smaller bedside handgun vault will generally still have a large number of brands and styles to select from. Gun Safe Critic is a great website because it reviews all kinds of different gun safes. Weigh your options carefully and purchase a gun safe that suits your particular needs.
Every day many of us habitually flip a switch and turn on the radio where we can enjoy our favorite talk radio broadcasters, news and genres of music. But have you ever stopped to think about how the radio and its broadcasters ever came about in the first place? We have and we would just like to share a little piece of this background with you right now. Before you read on, check out the video documentary below that’s pretty good at providing a nice overview.
Quite often with technology and innovations there was something pioneered beforehand which paved the way for it to come into existence. The radio is no exception as it was inspired by both the telephone and the telegraph machine. Quite simply we could say that radio first began as a type of wireless telegraphy. (more…)
“The American dream has now morphed into an expectation. And if it isn’t provided, or if it doesn’t happen, then people feel cheated.” For those unfamiliar with this quote, it was spoken by conservative political commentator and radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh whom we would now like to recognize as one of the most accredited pioneers of conservative polemic.
Rush Limbaugh started out as a disc jockey at sixteen years of age and would eventually go on to begin his very own show in 1984 named Sacramento which was on station KFBK. This was where he first began his continuous structure of commentary that was politically motivated and took various callers. By 1988 the show began to run nationwide from station WABC in New York City. (more…)
So where do you think we would be right now if it weren’t for so many interesting and contentious talk radio hosts? The world would likely not be as intriguing or stimulating as it is now that’s for sure. We would like to take some time now to recognize some of the most influential talk radio hosts of all time and we hope that you will enjoy reading about them.
This list would never be complete if a talk radio icon like Rush Limbaugh were never mentioned. He gained most of his momentum during the early 1990s and Limbaugh has been quoted as saying, “Obamacare is not about improved health care or cheaper insurance or better treatment or insuring the uninsured, and it never has been about that. It’s about statism. It’s about expanding the government. It’s about control over the population. It is about everything but health care.” (more…)
